This is a blog that I have created for a class that I will be constantly working on throughout the semester. It contains a number of different educational ideas, philosophies, and discussions. There will be links to different websites that I have found helpful and encouraging throughout my life and my teaching career.
Word it Out!
This is a fun website to make word clouds. You can measure the amount of times that a word occurs in a paragraph or sentence or any group of words. You can also change the colors and fonts and form the word cloud in different ways.

This website is great for activities for after school programs, during school, homeschooling, or parents who just want to do educational, fun activities with their kids. It has a variety of subjects (math, science, writing, reading, art, etc.) for a variety of grade levels. I use it a lot for planning lessons for the after school program that I work at. I have also used it just to get ideas for units that I write, and I just change the lessons and add things to them.
Pinterest
I use this for lots of different ideas. I like to just do it as a past time, but it is beneficial for lots of different things! You can follow people's pinboards, create your own, and share your pins with people. It has lots of great ideas for cooking, lessons in the classroom, outfits, photography, home decor, and many others.
Storybird
This website allows you to create stories, using artwork that has already been created or that you create yourself. You can also read stories, and save different stories into your reading list. You can collaborate with people to help write stories or to invite them to see your story. Parents can also approve of children using the website in the classroom.
CoolMathGames
This is a great website to use in the classroom for students to practice their math and logic skills. They enjoy playing the games and they benefit from it without even knowing it! It can be used in the classroom during an actual math activity or it can be assigned as homework practice or presented as an option for free time.
TeacherTube
This website is basically like YouTube for teachers. There are countless videos that teachers can use in their classroom or to share ideas that they have done for lessons. I like this website because it helps for me to see a lesson done visually instead of reading the lesson plan. It helps me to identify things that I need to change or modify and things that I might not want to do based on my student audience.
Prezi
This website allows teachers and students to create presentations to use in the classroom that are different from using Microsoft PowerPoint. I like using Prezis because they are more fun and creative and they will allow students to have more options when creating a presentation. They are also more fun to use in the classroom because of the visual and graphic effects.
PBS for Teachers
PBS is a broadcasting system that has television programming for both children and adults. This website contains bountiful information for teachers to use in the classroom as resources as well as activities for students to do on the computer to practice math and reading skills. It has videos, lesson plan ideas, and many other things that are categorized by grade for teachers to utilize.
Bible Study Tools
This is a great site for anyone that likes to have a guide to help them as they study Scripture. It has a number of different versions of Scripture as well as a link to listen to pastors speaking about the Word. It also has different bible studies that you can follow, popular verses and verses of the day, links to other resources, and ways to connect with other Christians to gain their insight about God's Word. I love this site because it gives me a starting point for my devotions and it has so many different helpful tools to use!
Teachers Pay Teachers
This site is awesome. There are links to different grade levels, different topics, different price ranges (including FREE), and other great things that teachers can use in their classrooms. Included in the website are such things as reading and word work activities, templates for games, and many other things to use in the classroom. The link provided goes directly to the free activities page.
Teacher Notebook
This is another great site that is very similar to Teachers Pay Teachers. It has numerous activities for teachers to use in their classrooms. Some things need to be paid for, but there are a great deal of free activities and templates available. The link provided goes directly to the free activities page.
